The MIST Inter-Department Football Tournament 2025 concluded with a significant achievement for the Aeronautical Engineering Department (AE), which secured the championship title after a seven-year interval since its last victory in 2018. The outcome reflects sustained commitment, collective discipline, and effective performance under competitive conditions.
Tournament Overview
The tournament featured 12 departments, divided into four groups.
Group C comprised:
Aeronautical Engineering (AE)
Environmental, Water Resources and Costal Engineering (EWCE)
Petroleum & Mining Engineering (PME)
Group Stage Performance
AE began the tournament with an emphatic statement of intent:
- AE 9–0 PME
A commanding performance that showcased AE’s attacking depth and tactical superiority.
- AE 8–1 EWCE
Despite EWCE scoring first and briefly putting pressure on AE, the Aeronautical Engineering side responded with composure and dominance, turning the game completely in their favor.
AE comfortably topped Group C, advancing to the knockout stages with confidence.

Quarter-Final
- AE 5–0 BME
A one-sided encounter where AE displayed disciplined defense and ruthless finishing.
Semi-Final
- AE 2–1 CE
This was the most emotional and defining match of the tournament.
Civil Engineering (CE), the two-time defending champions, had never been beaten by AE in previous tournaments. Breaking that barrier, AE showed immense mental strength and tactical maturity to defeat the giants and secure a place in the final.
The Grand Final
- AE 1–0 CSE
The final against Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was a true test of patience and resilience. CSE controlled possession from the start, utilizing quick forwards and a solid defensive setup. AE absorbed the pressure and waited for the perfect moment.
In the final minutes of the match, TAHSIN SHAFAYAT delivered a decisive assist, and SHOUMIK MAHMUD calmly applied the finishing touch—sending the Aeronautical Engineering Department into celebration.
That single goal sealed the championship and marked a historic title win after 2018.
