MIST Corona Prevention Campaign on Victory Day (16 Dec 2020)
Conceiving the theme “Safety Through Mask” and to realizing the fact “My life - My Responsibility” today on 16 December 2020, a CORONA awareness program held at MIST as part of ongoing program of ‘Victory Day’ to help prevent possible spreading and infection of COVID-19 during this winter season. Commandant of Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST), Maj Gen Md Wahid-Uz-Zaman, ndc, aowc, psc, te inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest. At the beginning of his speech, Commandant expressed his deepest respect on this Victory Day to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman – the Greatest Bengali of all time and architect of our beloved nation. He also paid tribute to the martyrs of Liberation War 1971 who made their supreme sacrifice for the independence of Bangladesh. He appealed to all and requested to adhere to the call made by the Honorable Prime Minister for wearing mask to remain safe during CORONA Pandemic. He also emphasized on other preventive measures like repeated hand washing, social distancing, maintaining healthy life, etc and special emphasis was given on wearing mask while ensuring own safety. In addition to this event, the Chief Guest also thanked all concerned, related to the publication of special issue of MIST International Journal of Science and Technology (MIJST) - A Peer Reviewed Online Open Access Journal, on Victory Day. In this public awareness program on Victory Day, during the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, MIST campus was decorated with various banners, festoons, and placards with information on COVID-19 and doable aspects by every individual to help mitigate the ongoing Pandemic unitedly. Military and non-military faculty members, officers, military students, and other members of MIST joined that program.
